What investors want from property developers

Marr International conducted a survey from its investor database held at www.homesgofast.com. The survey aimed to help concentrate our clients marketing by finding out the top ten questions investors wanted answered from a property developer 

The survey conducted in October 2008 asked 2000 international property investors registered the following question: 

 "what are the most important questions you need answered before you will consider buying an off plan property abroad'

The results of the survey reveal the major concerns from investors about the developer's viability as a business and that trust was a major issue. Investors seemed to seek security from having funds placed in an escrow account and other due diligence issues. 

The top 10 questions from the survey revealed the following:

1.) What guarantees do I have that the developer wont go into administration?

2.) What work has the developer done before? 

3.) Will my deposit be placed in an Escrow account ?

4.) What is the payment schedules and size of deposit?

5.) When can I resell my purchase cost of doing so?

6.) What is the completion dates is it on schedule?

7. What compensation will I get if building is delayed?

8.) Has planning permission and all local permissions been obtained?

9.) What happens if the build is of poor quality?

10.) What penalties are there if I am late with payments?
